Booking and Payment

A. By booking our emergency driving test service through testdaycarhire.co.uk, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
B. All booking requests must be made through our website or by contacting our customer support team.
C. Payment for driving lessons or test-day car hire must be made in full at the time of booking, unless otherwise agreed.
D. A service is considered fulfilled once the instructor and vehicle have been allocated and have attended the agreed time and location, regardless of whether the driving test proceeds.

Deposit Policy

A. All deposits paid to testdaycarhire.co.uk are non-refundable, except in circumstances where we are unable to allocate you an instructor.
B. If an instructor is allocated and attends the appointment location, the deposit remains non-refundable regardless of whether the student attends or not.

Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Show Policy

A. Cancellation or rescheduling of driving lessons must be made at least 28 days prior to the scheduled driving test or lesson.
B. Failure to provide sufficient notice for cancellation or rescheduling may result in forfeiture of the driving test/lesson fee.
C. Testdaycarhire.co.uk cannot be held responsible in the event of DVSA test cancellations, vehicle breakdowns, bad weather, examiner unavailability, traffic delays, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Deposits are only refundable if no instructor can be allocated. Refunds may take 5–10 working days.

D. If a student fails to arrive at the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time (“no-show”), Testdaycarhire.co.uk reserves the right to charge the full service fee. This is because the instructor and vehicle have been allocated, have travelled to the location, and the service has been provided on the company’s side. All associated costs—including travel, fuel, and the blocked appointment time—are still incurred by the company.

E. No refunds will be issued for partially completed services, including situations where a lesson has taken place but the driving test does not proceed for any reason.

Eligibility and Requirements

A. The emergency test service is available only to individuals who meet the legal requirements for taking a UK driving test and can read a number plate from 20 metres.
B. Students must possess a valid UK provisional licence before booking.
C. Students must arrive on time at the designated meeting point and provide any required identification.

Instructor’s Discretion & Use of Vehicle for Test

A. Instructors reserve the right to refuse or discontinue lessons if the student is suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or if behaviour poses a safety risk.
B. Instructors may end a lesson early if the student is unprepared or unsafe to continue.
C. Use of the vehicle for the driving test is strictly subject to the instructor’s professional assessment.
D. Students must be at a test-ready standard, as determined by the instructor, prior to being permitted to use the vehicle for the driving test.
E. The instructor reserves the right to refuse use of the vehicle for the driving test if a student is deemed unsafe, not test-ready, or likely to pose a risk to themselves, the examiner, or the public.
F. In such cases, no refund will be provided, as the lesson time, instructor time, travel, and vehicle allocation have already been delivered.
G. Testdaycarhire.co.uk does not guarantee use of the vehicle for the test or a pass under any circumstances.
H. The instructor’s professional judgement regarding a student’s safety and test readiness is final.
I. Where a student is not familiar with the type of vehicle provided (including switching from automatic to manual), it is the student’s responsibility to demonstrate safe and competent control. Failure to do so may result in refusal of the vehicle for the driving test, with no refund.
J. If, during the assessment or lesson, a student commits serious or dangerous driving faults, the instructor reserves the right to refuse continuation of the lesson and/or use of the vehicle for the driving test on safety grounds.

Liability and Insurance

A. Testdaycarhire.co.uk takes reasonable precautions for safety, but driving carries inherent risks. The company is not liable for any accidents, damages, injuries, or losses during lessons or tests.
B. Students are strongly advised to have personal insurance for themselves and their belongings.
